Artistic Escapes LLC FAQ

Have a question about Artistic Escapes LLC and our landscaping services? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • What makes Artistic Escapes different from other landscape management companies?

We're a medium-sized company that truly takes pride in what we do. Our business was founded on the basic principles of business, such as always exceeding your customer's expectations, charge less than they expect and provide the most exceptional customer service available. We always follow the Golden Rule - treat others as we would like to be treated.

  • How often will you visit my property? Will there be a regular visitation day?

You would have a regularly scheduled day so you can always count on us to maintain everything on a regular basis. You'll soon get us down to where we show up at almost the exact same time on your scheduled day. If there is a rain delay, we will come to you the following day.

  • What is the best time for landscape installation?

The best time of year is spring or fall. Here in Colorado, that would be between April and June or September and November. During these months, plants will take less of a shock when being planted and the turf will require less water than usual.

  • What is the difference between annuals and perennials?

Annuals will die off every year in our climate but a perennial will come back every spring and live on for many years, if cared for correctly.

  • Why do I need an irrigation system?

An irrigation system is one of the best investments you can make in your property. It puts a critical element of your landscape maintenance on autopilot and allows you to water at the most appropriate times of day. This decreases water consumption and maximizing efficiency. We can even hook up fertilization tanks to your irrigation system, making that occur automatically as well.

  • When are certain landscape maintenance functions performed?

Many of our landscaping maintenance functions are performed in the spring or fall. These include trimming bushes, grass and trees, as they are in a dormant state. The summer is also a good time to actively prevent weed growth and support a healthy lawn with fertilizers.

  • How often do you prune plant material?

You don't want to prune plant material more than once a year, generally after November and before the end of March.

  • What is hardscaping?

Hardscaping consists of all elements that can be added to a landscape that is built or consists of stone or brick material. This can be a rock mulch bed, paver patio or walkway, or a wooden pergola.

  • How often should I water my lawn?

It's best to water your lawn less frequently, such as 3-4 days per week. To do this in a hot and dry climate, you will need to do a soil test to see how quickly the water runs off or puddles. Depending on how much water your sprinklers release, you'll want to water your lawn until the water runs or puddles. This may take 30 minutes per zone.

  • When should I blow out my sprinklers?

We recommend blowing out your sprinkler system by November 1 to prevent it from freezing.

  • How long does it take to install an entire landscape?

We can usually complete the entire project in one week. If there is a paver patio as part of the job, it may take an additional three days.

  • How much does it cost to add a water feature?

We can construct a basic water feature (near a power source) for as little as $3,500 and a pond-less feature, resulting in little to no maintenance.

  • Is metal edging safe as part of the landscape?

There is a newly designed metal edging that has a rolled top to it. It is very safe if installed correctly. However, it can become dangerous if a lawnmower hits it and leaves a sharp edge sticking up.
